  • Day 2 : Phnompenh – City tour

Phnompenh is the political, cultural, and commercial center of Cambodia. The city has many buildings with French architectural influences and many unique works of Khmer architecture.
Today you will have a full day to explore this city. The first visit is Silver Pagoda (also known as the Emerald Buddha Temple), home to a priceless collection of Buddha statues crafted from gold, silver, emerald, and adorned with diamonds. The grandeur and spiritual importance of this temple make it a must-see cultural gem.

Continue your journey with a stop at the Independence Monument, built in 1954 to commemorate Cambodia’s liberation from French colonial rule. Next, explore the National Museum of Cambodia, housed in an elegant terracotta building dating back to 1917. Inside, you’ll find over 5,000 artifacts, including ancient sculptures, bronzes, and finely carved wood and metalwork that trace Cambodia’s rich artistic heritage through the ages.

In the afternoon, focus to Cambodia’s more somber past with a deeply moving visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21). Once a peaceful school, this site became an infamous Khmer Rouge prison and interrogation center during the brutal regime of the late 1970s.

Though emotionally powerful, this visit offers essential insight into the resilience of the Cambodian people and the importance of remembrance and reconciliation. It is an experience that will stay with you long after your journey ends.

Rest of the day, explore the city on the bank of Mekong River on your own pace.

  • Day 5 : Siemreap – Angkor tour

Begin your day early with a spectacular sunrise at Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic landmarks. Revered for its architectural grandeur and profound spiritual significance, Angkor Wat is home to the world’s longest continuous bas-relief, depicting captivating scenes from Hindu mythology across its outer galleries.

After witnessing this unforgettable sunrise, return to your hotel for breakfast – or opt for a packed breakfast to enjoy on the go, allowing more time to immerse yourself in the wonders of Angkor.

Continue your exploration through the West Gate of Angkor Thom, a tranquil and less-frequented entrance that offers a serene introduction to the ancient Khmer capital, built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII.

Discover the majestic splendors of Angkor Thom, visiting its most remarkable monuments:

    • South Gate – Admire the grand gateway lined with statues portraying the “Churning of the Ocean of Milk.”

    • Elephant Terrace – The impressive viewing platform where monarchs once presided over royal ceremonies and parades.
    • Preah Palilay – A peaceful, forest-shrouded temple predating Angkor Thom, often graced by monks performing traditional water blessings.

Conclude your temple journey at the mystical Ta Prohm, world-renowned for its ethereal beauty and appearance in Tomb Raider. Left in a semi-restored state, its massive tree roots entwine dramatically with the ancient stonework - a breathtaking testament to the passage of time and the harmony between nature and civilization.
