From Laos, fly to Hanoi, Vietnam’s vibrant capital, where colonial charm blends seamlessly with ancient culture. Continue with an unforgettable overnight cruise through the spectacular limestone seascape of Ha Long Bay, one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic natural wonders.

The journey then takes you to the lantern-lit ancient town of Hoi An, famous for its peaceful ambiance and well-preserved heritage. Travel onward to Hue, the former imperial capital, via the breathtaking Hai Van Pass, celebrated as one of the most scenic coastal mountain passes in the world.

Conclude your adventure in dynamic Ho Chi Minh City before escaping to the tranquil waterways of the Mekong Delta, where a relaxing boat trip offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s vibrant river life and lush countryside.

  • Day 1 : Vientiane Arrival

    Welcome to Vientiane – the capital of Laos.
    Your driver and guide will pick up you at the airport and take you to the hotel in the city center to check in. Free on your own to discover Vientiane.

  • Day 2 : Vientiane – City tour

    Begin your exploration of the charming capital city of Vientiane with a fascinating tour of its most iconic landmarks and cultural treasures. Today’s journey takes you through the heart of Laos, where French colonial elegance blends beautifully with ancient Buddhist heritage.

    Visit the country’s most significant national monuments, including the magnificent Pha That Luang, the golden symbol of Laos and its most sacred religious monument. Continue to the historic How Pha Keo, once home to the Emerald Buddha, and discover the serene beauty of Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, renowned for its thousands of Buddha images.

    The tour also includes a stop at the impressive Patuxay Monument, often referred to as the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane,” offering panoramic views over the capital. Experience local daily life at the vibrant Vientiane Morning Market, where you can browse handicrafts, textiles, souvenirs, and local products. Along the way, enjoy visits to other beautiful monasteries and cultural attractions that showcase the rich history and spiritual atmosphere of Laos.

  • Day 3 : Vientiane – Train to Luang Prabang – walking tour

    This morning, embark on a scenic high-speed train journey to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and cultural heart of Laos. The ride takes approximately one hour, offering a comfortable and efficient connection through the country’s picturesque landscapes.

    Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by your private driver and guide, who will transfer you to your hotel.
    In the afternoon, set out on a guided exploration of Luang Prabang’s rich spiritual and historical heritage. Visit the Royal Palace, now the National Museum, which offers insight into the country’s royal past and cultural artifacts. Continue on foot to Wat Mai, noted for its intricate golden bas-reliefs, and Wat Sensoukarahm, renowned for its gleaming gold façade. Conclude your temple tour at the city’s most iconic and venerated site, Wat Xieng Thong – a masterpiece of Lao temple architecture that showcases ornate carvings, mosaics, and traditional rooflines.

  • Day 4 : Vientiane – Kuangsi fall

    Begin your day with a scenic drive from Luang Prabang to a peaceful valley southeast of the city, arriving at Long Lao Village. This charming village is home to both Khamu and Hmong communities. Before setting off on the trek, take time to explore the local culture and visit our Fair Trek project - a beautifully crafted clay bungalow that supports community-based tourism and offers authentic village experiences.

    From the village, we begin our guided trek into the stunning Lao countryside. The trail winds through rice fields, orchards, and vegetable gardens before entering forested hills and lush jungle landscapes. The terrain is mostly flat with a moderate level of difficulty, including a short rocky ascent and descent (approx. 20 minutes). Please note, the trail can be slippery when wet.

    By early afternoon, we reach the highlight of the day - the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfall. Follow a forest trail to the base of the falls, where crystal-clear pools invite you to swim, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty.

    While at Kuang Si, don’t miss the chance to visit the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary. Learn about the conservation of endangered Asian sun and moon bears and the inspiring work of the “Free the Bears” program. You’re welcome to support the sanctuary by donating or purchasing an official “Free the Bears” T-shirt.

    After a rewarding day, we return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon.

  • Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave – Fly to Hanoi

    Transfer to the pier for a private Mekong River cruise to the sacred Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues in varying shapes and sizes. Along the way, observe local river life and fishing villages that depend on the Mekong for transport and trade.

    On the return journey, stop at Ban Xang Hai, a village known for traditional Lao whisky-making and hand-weaving.
    Then your driver will take you to the airport for flight to Hanoi. Once arrive in Hanoi, your driver will pick up and transfer to your hotel in the center to check in. Free and relax.

  • Day 6 : Hanoi – City tour

    Start at 08:30AM for a full-day exploration of Hanoi. First visit the renowned Temple of Literature and the Quoc Tu Giam - Vietnam's first university, was founded within the temple to educate the royal family, mandarins, and elite members for an impressive 800 years.

    Afterward, you can choose between museum options (to be decided on the tour day):

    Option 1: Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays). A must-visit for those interested in Vietnam's cultural diversity, this museum features a vast array of interactive exhibits representing the 54 ethnic groups of the country.

    Option 2: Hoa Lo Museum - The "POWS" Known as the "Hanoi Hilton", this historic site was built by the French and served during both the French colonial period and the Vietnam War. It offers documentaries of Vietnamese history in 20-21 centuries. 

    Following your museum visit, enjoy your lunch (on your own budget).

    Once refreshed, head to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex. This fascinating site involves considerable walking, so be prepared (note that the Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays, as well as every afternoon and annually from June 12th to August 14th).

    Continue on foot past the Mausoleum (viewed from the outside) to learn about the life and legacy of the nation’s founder. Then, visit the Presidential Palace and the 'house on stilts' where 'Bac Ho' lived from 1958 to 1969 (closed on Mondays and Fridays). Take a leisurely stroll through the peaceful botanical garden, concluding at the One Pillar Pagoda, a unique symbol of Hanoi built in 1049.

    Then enjoy some coffee at Train Street. The century-old train tracks that run through the heart of Hanoi’s Old Town have recently transformed into an intriguing attraction known as Hanoi Train Street, especially popular among travelers and foreigners. Sitting at a café adjacent to the railway and observing the daily lives of local residents can be somewhat risky, yet it continues to draw many curious visitors eager for the experience.
    In the mid to late afternoon, explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter on the cyclo. This labyrinth of alleyways is filled with hidden gems, offering a glimpse into local life in the ‘36 guilds’ as you navigate the bustling streets.

    To wrap up the day, travel back to the 11th century with an enchanting performance of the ancient art of water puppetry at the famous Water Puppet Theater.

    After this captivating introduction to Hanoi’s highlights, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.

    Note: When visiting pagodas and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, please ensure that your shoulders and knees are covered.

  • Day 7 : Hanoi – Halong bay cruise

    08:30 AM: Depart from your hotel for a comfortable two-hour drive through the scenic Red River Delta.

    Upon arrival, be warmly welcomed to a romantic journey to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay.

    Check in your comfortable private cabin before enjoying a delightful lunch with sea food choices.
    Take some leisure time to admire the breathtaking scenery before setting off afternoon excursions. You can visit the famous Sung Sot cave, enjoy a relaxing bamboo boat rowed by fishman or try hands on kayaking. 
    As the sun sets, participate in a cooking class while the bar's Happy Hour is opened, the perfect view of Tonkin Bay.

    The fine dining experience for dinner, featuring a delectable tasting menu, promises to create unforgettable moments.

    Afterward, relish a starry night on the bay from the top deck with your favorite drink. You can also try your luck at squid fishing.

  • Day 8 : Halong – Hanoi – Fly to Danang – Hoian

    Start your day early with a Tai Chi session on sun deck, breathing in the fresh air, and witness the sunrise over the bay.

    Enjoy a light breakfast complemented by a good cup of coffee or tea, preparing for a new-day adventure exploring the bay's rocky islands and natural beauty. If the weather is favorable, you’ll have the chance to swim at a hidden beach or hike to the top of TiTop island grab the stunning bay view on your photos. 

    Afterward, return to the cruise to complete the check-out process. Savor a delightful brunch at the restaurant while cruising back to the harbor. 

    Your private vehicle transfers you back to Hanoi to take flight to Danang. 

    Upon your arrival at Danang Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your tour guide and a private car then transfer to your hotel in Hoian for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the romantic city on riverside at your leisure.

  • Day 9 : Hoian – walking tour – Bamboo Basket rowing

    A morning walk through the old town is the perfect way to soak in the charming of Hoi An, renowned as one of the world’s premier destinations. This historic town once thrived as a bustling trading port, connecting Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and Westernt merchants along the famous Silk Road. Today, Hoi An attract tourists with its ancient town, delicious local cuisine, and coffee culture, along with a variety of shopping and relax accommodation options. In Hoi An, travelers are encouraged to slow down to enjoy the journey.

    At 8:30 AM, your tour guide will meet you to begin your walking tour. Your first visit will be the Japanese Covered Bridge, the symbol of the ancient town. Strolling along the Thu Bon River, follow the narrow streets flanked by closely-knit houses, every turn offers fantastic photo opportunities. Have a short excursion to the over 200 years old Tan Ky ancient house, which stands as a evidence to the prosperous development of this port city since the 17th century.

    Continue to visit the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall and Ong Pagoda, must-see sites that reflect the rich Chinese culture and beliefs in Hoi An. Then a short stop at the central market offers a glimpse into the daily lives of locals and is a great chance to pick up some souvenirs.

    The last visit is Bay Mau coconut Forest, here you will enjoy the unique Bamboo Basket rowing.

    Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Or, we can take you back to your hotel for some relaxation.
    We highly recommend returning to the town at sunset to witness the romantic version of Hoian with colorful lanterns at every corner and the vibrant night market.

  • Day 10 : Hoian – Hue

    In the morning, embark a scenic drive from Hoian along white sandy beaches of Da Nang to the ancient capital of Hue.

    Conquer the legendary Hai Van Pass of 20km long, stop as you wish for breathtaking views of the mountains and sea await. Have a break for lunch or enjoy a hot cup of coffee amid the tranquil of Lap An Lagoon.

    Upon arrival to Hue, visit Thien Mu Pagoda, an important center of Buddhism in the central region. Then embark a private boat on a poetic journey along the Perfume River, enjoy a glimpse of city and make a stop to visit Dong Ba vibrant market. 

    Afterwards, check in to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay in Hue.

  • Day 11 : Hue – City tour – Fly to Saigon

    Spend the morning visiting the highlights of Hue - the UNESCO Heritage City.  Visit the Royal Citadel, the workplace, residence and ancestral worship place of the Nguyen Dynasty kings - the last feudal dynasty of Vietnam. 
    Continue visit the King's tomb of Minh Mang, the most renowned king, who made significant contributions to Vietnam.

    Enjoy lunch at the typical Hue's ancient house before transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam’s most vibrant and populous metropolis.
    Upon arrival, your guide and driver will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for check-in and unwind for a restful overnight stay in this bustling city.

  • Day 12 : Saigon – City tour – Cuchi tunnels

    Asia Life Travel private car and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for a two-hour drive to the outskirts of Saigon. The lush Cu Chi area, known for its vegetable and rubber plantations, was once home to a network of tunnels - over 200 kilometers - built by locals who lived and fought valiantly during the French and Vietnam War.

    When arrival, you will walk through the forest with your guide, he will share stories that reveal the history importance of the Cu Chi Tunnels. You'll have the unique opportunity to venture inside the narrow tunnels and learn about the courageous lives of the locals, who utilized primitive yet innovative weapons in their struggle.

    Experience a vivid recreation of daily life during the war, including living areas, kitchens, field hospital, weapons factories, command bunkers, and combat zones. A short documentary will also provide an insightful overview of this famous destination. 

    After your tour, relax on the way back to city center for a visiting highlight of Ho Chi Minh City.  We first visit the War Remnants Museum, an essential stop for those interested in the heroic yet brutal Vietnam War. You also can spend time at Nguyen Hue Walking Street to see the modern style of the Vietnam's biggest financial city. Then enjoy a leisurely walking tour to explore some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. As you wander through the lively streets of District 1, you'll also visit the historic City Hall. If you are a local shopping enthusiast, Ben Thanh Market, where a variety of local goods await.

  • Day 13 : Saigon – Mekong Delta day trip (Cai Be)

    Begin your journey with a scenic cruise to explore the charming town of Cai Be and its historic church from the river. Continue to Tân Phong Island, where you will board a traditional rowing boat and glide through narrow canals shaded by lush mangrove trees, offering a peaceful glimpse into the tranquil countryside life of the Mekong Delta. Along the way, stop at a local garden to enjoy fresh tropical fruits, hot tea, and traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music.

    The experience continues with a leisurely bicycle ride along quiet village paths, passing orchards, schools, churches, pagodas, and traditional local houses. En route, visit family-run workshops where skilled artisans weave dried water hyacinth into handmade products such as baskets, bags, hats, wallets, and shoes. (Guests who prefer not to cycle may enjoy a short walk instead, although the sightseeing experience will be more limited.)

    Return to the boat and cruise across the mighty Mekong River - one of the world’s longest rivers - to reach An Bình Island. From here, travel through small handmade canals to ancient house, where an optional traditional lunch can be enjoyed in an authentic local setting.

    After lunch, take a relaxing walk through the village to discover local cottage industries, including rice paper, coconut candy, and puffed rice making. Enjoy homemade sweets accompanied by a cup of hot tea while learning about the traditional production methods.

    Before ending the cruise, visit the local brick kilns to observe how villagers skillfully craft beautiful pottery products from clay using age-old techniques. The journey concludes at the new boat station in Vinh Long City.
